RED DRAGONFLY PROJECT
will launch the various youth development programmes at Clementi Student Service Centre from June 2009
We are pleased to announce that Asian Journeys will partner Singapore Polytechnic and Clementi Student Service Centre to provide our youth programmes and services to serve the youths at Clementi from June 2009 onwards.
Asian Journeys’ RED DRAGONFLY PROJECT is a youth outreach effort to reach young people in the HDB Heartlands. Many of these youths have great potential and talents which can be nurtured and unleashed.

Our aim is to work with parents and teachers to initiate mentoring relationships with adult mentors and youth leaders in the community to provide a constellation of coaching and support network for these youths. We seek to walk alongside these young people to discover their dreams and passion through experiential learning journeys, small group workshops and volunteerism projects to help them develop their self-leadership and personal effectiveness for life.
The Red Dragonfly Project is a youth development initiative of Asian Journeys Ltd, a not-for-profit social enterprise, in partnership with Clementi Student Service Centre, Singapore Polytechnic student volunteers, schools and various welfare service organizations as well as corporate partners. The Red Dragonfly Project is supported by the Lee Foundation.

DARE TO SHARE YOUR IDEAS & LEARN TO SPEAK UP WELL
President Barack Obama is an excellent speaker, an evocative speaker, and a persuasive and motivating speaker who won millions of hearts and minds to his compelling ideas and vision of change.
Learning to speak up and speak well in public or in small groups is both an art and a valued skill which will take you a long long way in life.
Speaking well is like having apples of gold in settings of silver.
Don’t let public speaking skills be the domain of the school debaters or school leaders per se.
Let every youth be given training and exposure to public speaking while in the prime of their youth and the young people will develop thinking and communication skills which last a lifetime.
Invest in your youth by starting with Asian Journeys’ Youth Speaking Skills Workshop … and Have FUN right here in the heartlands at Reservoir Village.
What will it cost?
Only $60 for 6 sessions to help them get started and understand what it takes to be an effective public speaker.
Participants will be invited to join Asian Journeys Young Speakers’ Club after the workshops for only $10 a year …to continue their journey as up and coming public speakers who can impact their generation.
What will they learn…?
Participants will learn the art of speaking with confidence, hone the skills of crafting and delivering speeches, understand the use of words and rhetorical devices, use of voice and speaking gestures, appreciate the various types of speeches for different occasions and be given opportunities to present speeches in public.
The good speaker is a good thinker. Develop thinking and speaking skills and be on the way to becoming a leader.
